The Met x Eichholtz presents the Chandelier Hibis, inspired by the leaf motifs on a composite papyrus capital (380–343 BCE) from the Egyptian temple of Amun at Hibis.
With a brushed-brass finish and smoke glass, this chandelier exudes historical elegance and contemporary sophistication, transforming any space with its timeless charm.
HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Chandelier Hibis draws its essence from an early example of a composite capital from the Temple of Amun at Hibis in Egypt’s Kharga Oasis. Now housed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, this ancient capital features an elegant design incorporating the common papyrus and foxtail flatsedge plants, reflecting the intricate artisanship and artistic heritage preserved by The Met.
